Warren’s softball team battled visiting Fort LeBoeuf through seven scoreless innings before the Bison plated a run in the eighth and held on.

Warren freshman pitcher Alana Stuart struck out 10 over seven one-hit innings before allowing an unearned run in the eighth.

LeBoeuf freshman Kiernan Skelton matched her, throwing a one-hit shutout, striking out nine. She finished the game with four straight three-up-three-down innings.

“Definitely not the outcome we wanted,” said Warren coach Carissa Stuart, whose Dragons are 7-2 in Region 5. Fort LeBoeuf is 3-4. “Our at bats were not aggressive enough, watched too many strikes go by. Just about every at-bat we had to battle back into the count, which hurt us. We have to have better at-bats mentally. Let this one go and get the next one.”
