Thirty-one Warren Little Dragons participated in the Tyler Stufflebeam Memorial Wrestling Tournament at the Warren YMCA on Saturday.
In a field of 233 wrestlers, the matches were ultra-competitive. Some of the Warren youth were in only their first or second tournament facing competitors with four years of experience. Although not every Little Dragon won a match, they all wrestled hard and displayed tremendous potential for the future of Warren wrestling.
This past weekend’s tournament was the last regular-season tournament prior to the Keystone State qualifier tournament to be held this Saturday at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie.
Evan Wellner (4-0), Coleman Miller (3-0), Timmy Giger (3-0), Thayne Gourley (4-0) and KC Nelson (3-0) all took first place for Warren.
Second-place finishers included: Owen Damcott (2-1), Archer Knaus (2-1), Noah Pape (3-0) and Brock Polito (4-1).
