Sheffield tops Youngsville in return to court
SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield Wolverines returned to the court Saturday at home with a vengeance, shutting out Youngsville 3-0.
Sheffield won 25-10, 25-12 and 25-19.
“This was our first match back in two weeks, and only the second day with most of the team,” Sheffield head coach Melissa Lemay said.
Sheffield had been quarantined since Sept. 12, due to a positive COVID-19 test, resulting in the Wolverines missing several games.
Lynzie Grubbs and Kassidy Orinko both had eight kills. Orinko added four aces, nine digs and two blocks. Kadence Steffan racked up 24 assists and six aces. Lexi Goldthwaite had three aces and four kills.
Even though the Wolverines were back in action, they still were down a couple of players, with one returning today in time for their match at Elk County Catholic and another on Tuesday.
For the Eagles, they will take the short trip to Eisenhower today as well.
