The Extreme Athletix junior hip-hop team’s paid bid to THE ONE Cheer and Dance Finals in Orlando, Fla. resulted in the team being named the one — the top dance team at the competition. The junior hip-hop team, also known as the “EA Crew,” received a bid after winning the Champion Cheer Central Winter Beach Blast in Erie. Extreme Athletix’s junior hip-hop team consists of Kendyll Tome, Paiden Johnson, Paisley Lawson, Ava Fitzgerald, Avri Hornburg, Taylor Bailey, Jacqueline Allen, Cali Chapman, Abbey Frederick, Peyton Kent, Avie Russell and Aliza Olsen. THE ONE is an end-of-season event offered to cheer and dance teams that placed in the top three of virtual finals locations held throughout North America. “If anyone had asked the coaches when we started this program five years ago where we thought we’d be, the events of this season were not on our radar – an all-paid bid to The One Finals, in Orlando, coming home champions and to go on and become the National Champions,” Shawna Fitzgerald, Extreme Athletix director and coach, said in an email. “We are very proud of this team’s drive to work hard, determination to get it right and the love and respect they have for one another.” In photo above, the Extreme Athletix junior hip hop team is pictured in front of the Magic Kingdom.
