Sitler named to Region 4 First Team; several honored on Second Teams

Jordan Sitler headlines a group of girls from the Times Observer circulation area who have been recognized on the District 10 volleyball all-region teams in voting by region coaches.

Sitler, a senior middle hitter from Warren Area High School, is a Region 4 First-Team selection after recording, according to Maxpreps.com, 61 sets played, 160 kills, 20 blocks and 27 aces. One of her top games came against Cochranton on Oct. 24 when she recorded 19 kills in a 3-1 victory. Sitler also had 16 kills in 3-1 win over Berlin Brothersvalley on Sept. 19.

Second-Team Region 4 selections are Warren senior outside hitters Hannah Shattuck and Olivia English.

Shattuck recorded 62 sets played, 134 kills, 104 digs and 22 aces, while English was credited with 61 sets played, 112 kills, 12 blocks, 77 digs and 23 aces.

The Region 4 Player of the Year is Cassidy Snider, a senior outside hitter from Conneaut, which shared the region title with Maplewood.

A pair of Youngsville seniors — middle hitter Andrea Sveda and outside hitter Kamryn Weissinger — are members of the Region 3 Second Team.

The Region 3 Player of the Year is senior outside hitter Lexie Moore of Cochranton. Cochranton shared the region title with Saegertown.

The remaining District 10 players of the year are Keegan McConahy (Kennedy Catholic, Region 1); Cady Benedict (Sharpsville, Region 2); Rachel Brady (Corry, Region 5); Kiersten Stafford (Fairview) and Kayla Sharman (Girard), Co-Region 6; and Anna Bayer (Fort LeBoeuf) and Karlee Berchtold (Villa Maria), Co-Region 7.
