Warren improves to 6-2

Playing their second match in as many days, the Lady Dragons defeated Cranberry three sets to one, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19, and 25-13.

Warren is now 6-2 overall after the non-region win.

“Not our best game tonight – we seemed to have a lack of energy, maybe from playing two nights in a row and having a long trip for that important region game last night,” said Lady Dragons’ coach Mike Dolan. “We ended up playing well enough to win and picked up the intensity and level of play a little toward the end of the night which was important to finish strong.”

“Ashley Barker and Bailey Dilks played good defense. Jen Daugharthy and Haley Tuller had a nice game hitting and Paige Wilson played very well at the net again.”

Wilson led the way offensively with nine kills to go along with 18 digs and two blocks. Dilks had 19 digs and two aces, Daugharthy had nine kills and two aces, Tuller had seven kills, Kaitlin Sedon had six kills, Tori Paris had three kills, and Barker finished with 34 assists and 10 digs.

Warren jumps back into region play against Titusville on Tuesday.

The Lady Dragons’ junior varsity team was defeated in three sets, 25-10, 21-25, and 14-16. Hunter Uplinger had 10 kills, Haley Nelson had six kills, and Alexis Ames had a pair of digs in the loss.
