It’s been more than three months since Tidioute residents have been able to turn on their water faucet and simply use their water. It could still be another month before they can do so again depending on weather conditions and how quickly repairs are made. The Southwest Warren County Municipal Authority is still working to stabilize its public water system following months of pressure loss, filtration problems and storm-related turbidity spikes. We’re reminded quite often about the importance of the Allegheny River in Warren County. Recently, that reminder came from the borough of Tidioute, where an expansion of the borough’s access to the river is in the works with a $500,000 project to expand an existing boat launch from one lane to two, the addition of an ADA-accessible kayak launch and separate canoe and kayak access points.
