Drawing the lines Dear Editor, This is in regard to Main Avenue heading to Pleasant Township. I called PennDOT last year about re-painting the lines and/or arrows on Main Avenue, the part that is over the tracks and on the highway and bridge. The lines have never been re-painted — they are fading and can barely be seen in the daytime, but especially at night. If there is fog, the lines are not visible. I hope the good people who are to take care of Main Avenue can get this done before winter. Thank you for your assistance. Mary Leo, Pleasant Township

Dear Editor, My friend, Jimmy D, is an emotional guy. His wife is from Czechoslovakia. Her family had personal experience with German and Russian atrocities in World War II. No surprise they visited Auschwitz on a European trip. Some 1.1 million people died there. They weren’t alone. The museum draws many visitors, including students from Germany. Jimmy, of course, struck up a conversation. The students told him study of the Holocaust and German atrocities in World War II is mandatory. Dear Editor, The Warren Times Observer carried a front page story about “Dr.” Oz “taking on a sharper tone” in attacking the health of John Fetterman (Aug. 24). Since when is attacking anyone’s health considered proper in a political campaign, or any other time for that matter? A serious candidate for office can find plenty of other things to talk about — their own previous experience and professional successes in contrast the the experience and professional achievement of the opponent. Dear Editor, Considering the narratives around the polar opposite views of the 2020 election and with the 2022 midterms in view I have come to a rather disheartening conclusion. If the election was indeed stolen, then the Democrats won a coup, and we are now experiencing the end of Constitutional freedoms and suppression of political dissent and opposition.
