Another gospel Dear Editor, I concur with the letter in the Feb. 10 edition. However, I am one who does not put much faith in polls, because they are not dependable and sometimes far from accurate. We rest our faith in the Holy Scriptures, and the Scriptures alone. He’s absolutely correct, a vast number of churches are endorsing sin in favor of an act of love. In just one more day after this newspaper edition, whoever watched the Super Bowl would be treated to the “He Gets Us” commercial, which is a perverted gospel that is vastly different from the Gospel of Christ. Groundhog, Election Day Dear Editor, In February, we remember Abraham Lincoln and George Washington for excellent service to the U.S. as Presidents. They were known for their honesty and good leadership ability. It is unlikely the current or previous president will be remembered as Honest Joe or Honest Don — or cause kids to miss a day of school for a national Holiday. Outrageous fee Dear Editor, I recently bought a house and have been preparing a move across town from my present apartment. I parked my moving van on Market Street overnight. Bad idea. I woke up to a parking ticket. Looked up the codes and found I was in violation. But I digress, that is not my point. The typical processing fee is 25 cents + 4% or so. That amounts to 90 ...

Over 2240 were sent from Warren County folk, contributing to a total of 40,125 shoebox gifts sent from Northwestern Pennsylvania. Shoeboxes from Warren, Crawford and Erie counties were sent to ...

A challenge of faith Dear Editor, As we enter The Year of our Lord 2024, we face many challenges, both to our nation and the world. How we respond to these challenges will not only determine the future, not only of this nation, but the world as a whole. A major factor in determining the direction of this nation and what its worldwide influence will be; “if people examine political policies based on their religious faith, or is their religious faith influenced by their political views” …? Some years back Barack Obama said, “This is no longer a Christian nation.” By ...

Excellent leadership Dear Editor, Jan. 26 marked the final day of the tenure of Kim Holt as the executive director of Family Services of Warren County. She has led our agency since August 2019. During her time with the organization, we have improved our physical facility, expanded our program offerings, and partnered with other great agencies to host community events to spread awareness that help is available for people struggling with substance abuse or mental health in our community. She led the agency through the COVID era, continuing to provide services in a tough time for ...
