John Flasher

John R. “Bob” Flasher, 79, of Sugar Grove, PA passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Warren Manor.

He was born May 27, 1938, in Warren, a son to the late Lucius and Edith (Johnson) Flasher. John served in the United States Army and was a member of the Sugar Grove AMVETS and the Sugar Grove American Legion. He was a sports fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and family.

John is survived by his children, Steve Flasher of Warren, Wayne (Tracey) Flasher of Sugar Grove, Tammy Flasher and her companion, Cory Blyth of Warren and Theresa (Donald) Nichols of Lander; his siblings, Lucius “Bill” Flasher and his companion, Ruby of Pittsfield, a twin sister, Edith “Betty” Turner of Russell, Karen (Jesse) Lucks of Warren and David “Pete” (Monica) Flasher of Sugar Grove; his grandchildren, Johnathan Flasher, Sausha Nichols, Samantha Nichols, Kyle Scott, Kiley Boutelle, Christina Flasher, Danielle Flasher and Nicholas Flasher; his great-grandchildren, Desmond Flasher, Davynne Gardner and Jayden Danielson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann (Vanderhoof) Flasher, his step-mother, Lorraine Flasher, an infant son, Dawayne Flasher, a brother, Benjamin “Benny” Flasher and a brother-in-law, Mick Turner.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, 166 Hessel Valley Rd., Chandlers Valley, PA, with the Rev. Nancy Schwanke, pastor, officiating.
