Irvine Louis Geer

Irvine Louis Geer, Jr., 89, of Clarendon, PA., passed away on Friday, February 10, 2018, at the Rouse Home.

Louie was born September 19, 1928, in Warren, the son of Irvine Louis Geer Sr. and Hallie Dinsmoor Geer. He was a lifelong Warren resident, and was an independent oil and gas producer. Louie was a partner in I. L. Geer and Sons, from which he retired.

He was a member of The Friends of Drake Well, The Warren Farrah Grotto and a 50 Year Member of The Joseph Warren Lodge, The Zem Zem Shriners, and a 32nd Degree Mason. Louie was also a Co-Founder of Warren County Oil Gas and Mineral Association established in 1960.

He was honored in 1982 as 1 of 3 Outstanding Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Producers and pioneered several technical refinements in the trucking industry and in oil well drilling, completion and operations. He was also a aircraft owner and private pilot.

Louie is survived by four children and their spouses, Gerry and Diana Geer, Gilbert and Sandee Geer, Nancy and Jim Monaghan, and Beverly and Craig Baughman, twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death on January 20, 2005, by his wife Madolyn Burgeson Geer, whom he married September 3, 1945, and daughters-in-law, Anita Rogers Geer, and Delores Geer; grandson Robert Louis Geer; brother, Gail Geer, and sister Bessie Westland.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, 16365 on Wednesday, February 14, from 1 to 3 p.m, at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Bill Hargenrader, Pastor, First Church of God, Warren officiating.

Burial will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park.
