Sonya Ann Esslinger

Sonya Ann “Sissy” Esslinger,7, of Warren, PA, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.

She was born January 22, 2009 in Hamburg, N.Y., the daughter of Andrew E. Esslinger of Johnstown, PA and Cassidy M. Arnold Esslinger and her companion, John Peterson both of Warren, PA.

Sissy was a second grader at Warren Elementary School. She loved school and playing with her friends. She enjoyed painting and art work. Sissy especially enjoyed playing outside with all of her friends whom she loved.

Her favorite hobby was singing and dancing with her mom. She was a big helper to her mom with cooking and cleaning. She was a nurturing girl always trying to take care of hurt little creatures. Sissy had a bubbly and silly personality. Her sense of humor could be sarcastic and silly.

In addition to her parents she is survived by three brothers, Tyler Perry of Corry, PA, Kevin Esslinger of Warren, PA and Ayden Boutwell of Warren, PA, maternal grandparents, Kevin and Shawn V. Arnold of Mertztown, PA, maternal grandparents, Tamela and Edward Houghwot of Panama, N.Y., paternal grandmother, Sally Dunn of AR, one aunt, Ginnie (Harry) Miller of Macungie, PA; four uncles, David Arnold of Fairview, TN, Shawn L. Arnold of Jamestown, N.Y., Joseph Rough of Paradise, CA and Timothy Houghwot of Panama, N.Y. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, 316 East Fifth Street, Jamestown, NY on Wednesday from 3  7 PM. A service will be held there at 7 PM. Rev. John Rough will officiate. Her family would like people to wear her favorite color pink.
