Flooding closes three county roads

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the following state roads across their northwest region have been closed to through traffic due to flooding — and related damages, due to trees and utility lines.

According to the United States Geological Survey, who monitor real time geological data in the U.S. and have three monitoring stations around Warren County, the area has received a bit more than two and a half inches of precipitation over the past seven days, with two of those inches resulting from the past 24 hours alone.

In Warren County, Route 957 was closed from the intersection with Page Hollow Road to the intersection with Route 69 in Sugar Grove Township. Furthermore, Route 957 is also closed from the intersection with Curtis Street to the intersection with Dobson Road in Sugar Grove Township. Lastly, Route 1925, Page Hollow Road is closed from the intersection with Chapman Road to the intersection with Scandia Road in Glade Township.

PennDOT urges motorists: “Be alert to water on roadways, obey warning signs and traffic control devices and never drive through flooding or standing water on roads. Shallow, swiftly flowing water can wash a car from a roadway. Also, the roadbed may not be intact under the water.”

Drivers should be alert of area roadway conditions before traveling. The roads will remain closed until the water level rescinds and crews can get in to make any necessary repairs. For the latest updates on flood-related closures and restrictions, motorists can visit www.511PA.com.
