Monday’s school board meeting marked Gary Weber’s first meeting as Warren County School District superintendent.

Weber thanked everyone who was involved in the interview and hiring process.

“It went beyond the board,” Weber said, and included teachers, support staff and community members.

He told the board “how excited I am to carry on the work” and said he “look(s) forward to working with the board and the staff” to wrap up this school year and start working on the 2024-2025 year.

Weber’s five-year contract was approved during Monday night’s meeting. It passed 8-1 with board member John Wortman voting no.

Warren County School District Superintendent Gary Weber was sworn in to his new role on Monday by Common Pleas Judge Gregory Hammond.

The contract was approved without any public discussion.

Weber’s work in education started in Maryland before he moved to Warren County in 2002.

He first worked as a social studies teacher at Warren Area High School before principal roles at Eisenhower Middle High School and Beaty-Warren Middle School.

He then made the move to the central office where he first worked as the director of curriculum, instruction and assessment before shifting to his prior role as director of administrative support services.

Starting at $3.50/week.
