Warren County Democrats are touting a successful election kickoff event.

Over 60 county Democrats gathered at the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center on Saturday to sign petitions for Democratic candidates in the upcoming election cycle.

Speakers included Clarion County Commissioner Braxton White, who is seeking election as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention this summer in Chicago, and Warren County Commissioner Dan Glotz.

“White spoke about President Biden’s excellent record and multiple accomplishments such as lowering costs for families, reducing the deficit, and combating the climate crisis through the Inflation Reduction Act,” Katherine Bowley told the Times Observer.

White also raised the infrastructure law and cited economic data showing that the administration has created 11 million jobs.

According to Bowley, Glotz mentioned that the Warren County Commissioners are working well together and have an open door policy where anyone can come talk to them about any concerns.

Jacob Devereaux, the Warren County Democratic Committee’s program chair, announced upcoming activities and events to prepare for this year’s election, including the Spring Luncheon called the “Soup-er Voter Celebration.” It’s scheduled for April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Petitions for Democratic candidates being circulated by members who are canvassing some sections of the county.
