Bylaws next step for Crime Stoppers
There aren’t too many people that enjoy redrafting bylaws.
But that’s the next task for Warren County Crime Stoppers as the non-profit continues its effort to get back on its feet.
“We need to keep plugging away, trying to grow this a little bit,” Crime Stoppers President Todd Lake said during Friday morning’s meeting. “(We’re) trying to make it more viable.”
“Hopefully over the next year we can get kicked back up.”
A subcommittee was set up to review the bylaws, potentially bringing a draft back to the board in March.
City of Warren Police Chief Joe Sproveri proposed taking a few days to process the existing bylaws and meeting next week to start on the revisions.
Lake said that bylaws are a piece of what would be required to put a “Donate Now” button on the Crime Stoppers Facebook page.
Crime Stoppers’ premier fundraiser – the steer dump at the Warren County Fair – raised $2,010 this year.
Lake said that he’s working on defining the rules for the event as well as increasing the size of the field from 750 to 1,000 squares.
