A Pittsfield man charged last month with sexually assaulting a young child years ago faces a new set of charges including rape and aggravated indecent assault of a child.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, a female alleged victim reported Owen assaulting her “more times than she can remember” between 2015 and 2019, starting before she was 10 years old, at a Barton Run Road residence. At the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center, she said, “bad things happen there,” during a forensic interview.

The alleged victim told investigators that Owen forced her onto a bed and held her down during assaults. She reported that Owen threatened to hurt her family if she told anyone and slapped her if she did not listen.

Owen was charged with IDSI with child and aggravated indecent assault of a child on June 22. According to the affidavit in that incident, Owen had inappropriate contact with a different girl once between 2013 and 2015.

Owen was arraigned on the second set of charges Monday before District Judge Todd Woodin. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 27.
