Warren loses to Huskies Tuesday
HARBORCREEK — The Warren Dragons fell to the Harbor Creek Huskies 19-4 in Region 6 softball Tuesday.
“It was a tough loss, but we got better at the small things,” said head coach Samantha Mott. Alexis Jones got the scoring started with a single that drove in Alanna Warrior in the top of the first inning.
The third inning was active for the visiting Dragons as they were able to cross the plate three times. Bristol Holden hit a shot down the first base line to score Tori Solberg. Then, Alanna Warrior followed that up with a single that scored Emma Gray and Holden.
Unfortunately for the Dragons, this is all the momentum they could muster against the stout defensive and pitching efforts of the Huskies.
Despite the loss, the Dragons had plenty of success on the offensive end, with Alanna Warrior going 2 for 2 with a double, and Alexis Jones and Emma Gray hitting RBI singles. Also adding to the hits department were Holden and Solberg.
Holden was the losing pitcher for the Dragons, and recorded one strikeout in the contest.
The Dragons are on the road Thursday for their next matchup when they travel to General McLane to take on the Lancers at 4:30 p.m, with junior varsity to follow.
