The challenge was to support animal shelters and rescues in honor of Betty White.

Cub Scout Pack 6 and Beaty-Warren Middle Schools’s Gold B students answered.

The two groups donated a collective 100 items and $110 to Paws Along the River Human Society.

The Betty White Challenge was created in her memory and called on people to donate to their animal charity of choice on Jan. 17 – which would have been White’s 100th birthday.

“We had a wonderful group of kids from Beaty and Pack 6 donate 100 items and $110 for the #BettyWhiteChallenge to Paws Along the River,” Angi Burns said. “We wanted to share their good deed.”

Representing the groups in the donation were Lilly Loranger, Al Loranger, Merideth Kuntz (Beaty), and Joseph Blasco, CJ Archer, Joe Sigmond, and Thomas Kuntz (Pack 6).

The Gold B program fosters citizenship, character, and responsibility in and out of school.

Pack 6 is based out of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Warren.

Starting at $3.50/week.
