New York man jailed on kidnapping charge
A New York man is in Warren County Jail after allegedly trying to kidnap a Glade Township woman on Thursday.
Steven M. Mullin, 42, of Pulaski, N.Y., is charged with kidnapping to inflict injury or terror, unlawful restraint, and harassment.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Mullin went to the alleged victim’s residence on Rossman Drive, Glade Township, Thursday afternoon.
The woman said she went to her bedroom to get her phone after answering the door.
She told police Mullin asked her to “go for food with him,” according to the affidavit. She refused.
“Mullin then grabbed her by the arms and pulled her off of her bed,” according to the affidavit. “She explained Mullin then grabbed her by the waist and began to carry her out of the house.”
She told police she grabbed onto doors to keep him from carrying her out of the house.
The victim “related she was carried towards Mullin’s truck with the door open and music blasting,” according to the affidavit. “She related she told Mullin about one of his belongings and he set (her) down. Then (she) related law enforcement arrived on scene.”
According to police, a neighbor witnessed Mullin carrying the victim from the residence.
Mullin was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Miller and taken to Warren County Jail after failing to post $30,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.
