Support group meets Thursday The Caregivers Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Winger Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. East, Warren. All caregivers and anyone interested in learning more about dementia are welcome to attend. Numerous free materials concerning dementia and dementia-related diseases are available from the Alzheimer’s Association, as well as a lending library with many books to borrow. Outdoor Club to hike The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hold a short hike and then a potluck dinner at Pavilion #2 at Chapman State Park on Sunday, Jan. 28. The pavilion is enclosed and has electricity and those attending are asked to bring table service and a dish to pass. ANF road closures The Forest Service has announced that gates that were temporarily opened for hunting season access on the Allegheny National Forest will be closed starting Jan. 22. Some hunter roads on the Marienville Ranger District will remain open, conditions permitting. Hunters are reminded to remove their tree stands and hunting blinds no later than two weeks after the conclusion of the Pennsylvania deer hunting season.
