ANF road closures

The Forest Service has announced that gates that were temporarily opened for hunting season access on the Allegheny National Forest will be closed starting Jan. 22. Some hunter roads on the Marienville Ranger District will remain open, conditions permitting. Hunters are reminded to remove their tree stands and hunting blinds no later than two weeks after the conclusion of the Pennsylvania deer hunting season. Unless otherwise posted, non-motorized use, including hiking, biking, and horseback riding, is allowed on gated roads. Off-highway vehicle use is not allowed off the designated ATV/OHM trail system.

Class to meet

The Warren Area High School Class of 1970 will meet for lunch at Mamma Jane’s on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

Bridge results

Sherry Griffiths came in first and Phyllis Broadbent was second on Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center. Bill Massa claimed first Thursday afternoon at the Woman’s Club with Connie Michell in second. On Friday at the Woman’s Club Bridge Marathon, Marcy O’Brien and Nan Cashman were able to hang on to an overall first place. Rita Mancuso and Peggy Morgan are in second place.
