FirstEnergy crews supported by outside personnel continue to restore power after winds exceeding 70 mph tore through its service area on Friday, March 13. Power remains out for more than 200 Warren County customers of Penelec as of Monday morning. The company said it is still monitoring another storm system expected on today that may cause additional outages. Kinzua Dam planning significant outflows today

Officials announced Friday that significant increases in water outflow from Kinzua Dam were planned for today due to high levels along the Allegheny River. The dam is currently releasing 12,700 cubic feet of water every second (CFS) into the river, officials said. Boaters, anglers and others who use the river are urged to exercise caution and remain alert to changing conditions.

Warren man charged with corruption of minors

A Warren man has been charged with corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor. Logan N. Beard, 35, of Warren, was charged by Warren County Detectives on Thursday with third-degree felony corruption of minors - defendant age 18 or above, third-degree felony unlawful contact with a minor - sexual offenses and misdemeanor indecent exposure. Beard was arraigned Thursday by Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik, who set bail at $25,000 unsecured. Warren police said Beard was released with pre-trial supervision. WAHS evacuated after gas leak; school reopened in afternoon

A gas leak in the lower portion of Warren Area High School led to an evacuation of the school building Thursday. Fifteen students and an adult were taken to the Warren General Hospital emergency room for further evaluation. A Warren man has been charged with rape in a case allegedly involving a person less than 16 years of age. The State Police at Warren filed a criminal complaint Monday charging William H. Wilcox III, 34, of Warren with 11 felony charges related to incidents that allegedly took place Aug. 1, 2025, in Pleasant Township, according to online court docket information.
