A standoff involving law enforcement turned deadly on Saturday evening.
Erie News Now reports one person died in the incident that lasted more than 12 hours in Wrightsville. That standoff closed Route 958 at a residence near Irvine’s Garage. Reports noted that when a rifle was pointed at officers, they returned fire. No officers were injured in the incident. The incident began approximately 10 a.m. and ended around 10:30 p.m.
Route 958 was closed where it meets Route 6. Traffic was being routed over Deadman Run Road by the White Swan Ballroom. Law enforcement from Warren County, Erie County, Pa., and Chautauqua County, N.Y., were reportedly at the scene during the incident.
