Plea entered at preliminary hearings

One guilty plea was entered and one defendant was held for court during preliminary hearings held recently at the Warren County Courthouse. Justin E. Drukenbrod, 41, Tidioute, pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking. A count of deceitful business practices was withdrawn. Kaitlyn J. Polley, 27, Sheffield, was held for court on charges of DUI, two counts of endangering the welfare of children and six traffic offenses.

Sentences handed down in county court

The following sentences were handed down by Judge Gregory Hammond on Friday during sentence court proceedings at the Warren County Courthouse. Jacob D. Matteson, 40, Pittsfield, to five days to two years incarceration with credit for five days time served, $375 in fees, to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with recommendations, a no contact/no trespass order, 40 hours of community service and submission of a DNA sample on a count of criminal trespass. Warren man charged with possessing child porn

A Warren man is behind bars on charges after conversations with an online vigilante group led police to the discovery of his possession of child pornography. Anthony W. Engle, 58, of 27 S. Carver St., was charged by City of Warren police on Dec. 28.
