Support Group adds meeting time

The Caregiver’s Support Group is adding another meeting time. The group will gather and welcome visitors on the first Thursday of the month beginning 6 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Grace United Methodist Church. The noontime meeting, held on the third Monday of the month, has been well-received and will continue. This additional group allows for more flexible scheduling for those needing a later meeting time. The format of the meeting will be very similar to the noontime group and will include information about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. It is open to any caregivers in the area, as well as those interested in learning more about these diseases, and educational programs being held locally. Time will be allowed for sharing of concerns, questions, and suggestions for topics for future meetings. Many informational books and materials are available. Those attending are asked to enter the building via the Pennsylvania Ave. E. entrance to the Winger Room. For further information contact Karen at 723-9592, Laura at 723-5008, or Linda at 726-1199.

Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Warren General Hospital. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged to reduce wait times and may be scheduled by calling (814) 456-4206.

Outfits to aid Ukrainian families

The Sewing Mission Group of the First United Methodist Church of Warren recently sent some aid to Ukrainian families. The group packed up five boxes containing 124 children’s outfits and shipped them through the Grace Slavic Pentecostal Church of Erie to Ukrainian families in Poland. For years, church members and friends have used donated fabric and sewing supplies to create shorts, top, and dresses for children around the world.

Starting at $3.50/week.
