Warren library to temporarily close

The Warren Public Library will soon close for two-and-a-half weeks.

When the library closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, it will remain closed through 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4.

“This is being done to maintain the safety of staff and patrons as COVID cases continue to rise in the county,” Director Kelli Knapp said.

Appointments will be taken until the Wednesday closure.

“As of today, we are planning to remain open with the current schedule of appointments through Dec 23, so that the community can stock up on items prior to temporarily closing our doors,” Knapp said Friday. “Please call 723-4650 to schedule your appointment.”

When the library re-opens, it will do so on a limited scale.

“We will reopen for contactless pickup and virtual services only,” Knapp said. “We do not know how long we will need to continue contactless pickup service. That will depend on local virus rates, but we anticipate that it will be a few weeks.”

“Please remember to check us out on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for virtual programs and updates,” she said. “View our website, www.warrenlibrary.org, for virtual services, updates, and to view our catalog and request materials. Don’t forget our large ebook selection via OverDrive.”

“We miss our patrons and we know that they miss the library,” Knapp said. “Rest assured that we will resume regular hours and in-person services as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. In the meantime, enjoy what we provide virtually and thru pickup.”
