WCCD issues photo contest

Photo submitted to Times Observer

The Warren County Conservation District is looking for images of Warren County.

The WCCD is hosting its inaugural photo contest.

All photos must be taken in Warren County. The categories are: wildlife, barns, tree, and sunsets.

Entrants may submit no more than two photos in each category.

There is a $2 per photo entry fee.

Photos should be either 5-by-7 or 8-by-10, matted, and not framed, and submitted to the WCCD (4000 Conewango Ave., Warren) by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Photos should be submitted with the entrants name, address, phone number, the place where the photo was taken, and the intended category written on them.

The photos will be displayed at the WCCD office from Sept. 21 through Oct. 5. Public voting will determine the “people’s choice” award in each category.

The formal judging, including for best in show, will be done by members of the Warren Camera Club on Oct. 7 with winners announced on Oct. 9.

Entries will not be accepted from employees or directors of the WCCD nor from professional photographers — anyone who has sold photographs.

Further information is available by visiting www.wcconservation.net or calling (814) 726-1441.
