Eisenhower coach Scott Olson doesn’t want to sound like a broke record, but he knows how close his team is. They took on Cochranton on Tuesday, the No. 2 ranked Class A team in the state, and fell by scores of 12-25, 8-25 and 17-25. The Eisenhower girls soccer team raced out to a 2-goal halftime lead and was able to hold off visiting Port Allegany, 3-2 on Thursday. Caroline Smelko scored two goals for the Lady Knights, while Madison Mohney had the other. “The field was a muddy mess from the rain overnight and in the morning” noted Eisenhower coach Diana Elmquist.
