Meridian Hardwood wins Over 30 titleMeridian Hardwood beat Buckhorn 12-11 to capture the Over 30 softball league title on Tuesday. Doug Atteberry delivered the late-inning dramatics, belting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 7th after Buckhorn scored five runs in the top half of the inning to tie it.Andy Muntz delivered a pair of home runs for the winners, while Ed Ellis was 2-for-3 with a double and Joe Blauser also doubled. Warren volleyball strong at Fort LeBoeuf tourneyAt the 16 team Fort LeBoeuf volleyball tournament on Saturday, Warren went 2-1 and tied for first place in the morning pool, defeating Conneaut 25-23 and Meadville 25-23 while losing to North East 18-25. The afternoon pool saw the Dragons split with Harborcreek 25-25, 19-25 and Bradford 25-14, 19-25 while losing a close battle with Altoona 20-25, 21-25. Warren Sports Boosters Sporting Clays ShootThe Warren Sports Boosters Annual Sporting Clays Shoot will be held Sunday Sept. 20, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Kalbfus Rod and Gun Club on Chapman Dam Road. The shoot will be open to shooters of all ages. Any student under age 18 shoots for $15; any adult over 18 pays $25. Proceeds to benefit the Warren Sports Boosters Scholarship fund. Lunch is provided and there is a white elephant give away and a drawing for $50. Hole in oneEd Kellerman got a hole in one on Friday at Cable Hollow Golf Course on hole 2, using a 6-iron.
