Basketball tryoutsThe Warren Area Bombers 3rd-and-4th-grade elite travel boys basketball team will be holding tryouts from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Youngsville Elementary Middle School. The Bombers were 13-2 with a competitive schedule in 2014, and hold challenging practices - stressing fundamentals and dedication to team play - before and during the season, for boys currently in grades three and four in Warren County. Kinzua U-10 soccerKinzua U10 defeated Mercer 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in North Warren in Kinzua Soccer Club travel soccer action. The game opened with Payton Frank and Eliza Brook driving the offense. Brook found Winnie Wolf for the first goal of the game. Chase Sitler, Reid Olsen and Casey Rich kept the team strong with their control and Jack Napolitan, Ryan Chambers and Madoxx Reed's trapping defense. Bergen Nelson held Mercer scoreless in the net. Jr. high hoopsEisenhower's junior high girls basketball teams picked up a pair of wins at Oil City on Monday with the Blue team winning 31-10 and Gold winning 24-14.Rachel Frederick and Alexis Courtney led the way with eight points each in the Blue team's victory.
