Hotel project talks persist

Warren City Council is still exploring the possibility of a downtown hotel. Mayor Maurice Cashman announced that council met in executive session to discuss property matters, and then identified those property matters as relating to a hotel developer and parking. After the meeting, City Manager Nancy Freenock indicated that staff is still “trying to work out dimensions” for a parcel big enough to facilitate construction. The Warren County Commissioners would like to lead the way to bring broadband to underserved portions of the county. Commissioner Jeff Eggleston said at this week’s work session the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania is “trying to make a push with the state legislature” for legislation on broadband expansion.
