Photo provided to the Times Observer The Culinary Kidz program is a multigenerational immersive program. Grandparents or parents are urged to attend and help in the kitchen. Closing the gap between generations is a lesson in understanding for both. This program initiates positive conversations and interactions between our seniors and the Kidz attending. Both five-week programs are full.

Out and About

The next “Out and About,” where the TAWC bus takes seniors to a local restaurant, is set for Tuesday, July 23. Call (814) 723-4180 to reserve a seat.

Watercolor class

The Allegheny Community Center and Erie Arts and Culture have partnered to present a free watercolor class for all ages. Tara Shannon, an Erie watercolor artist, will teach this class. This program is also multigenerational. It will be held every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in August. Call (814) 723-4180 to reserve a seat.

Memory Care

The next session of the Memory Care Cafe will be held July 11 from noon to 2 p.m. The Memory Care Café provides the opportunity for persons living with dementia and their loved ones for friendship, fun, creativity, and connections. Dementia practitioners from the Rouse will be on hand to do an activity with the persons living with dementia while the ACC provides some fun and creative down time to their caregivers.
