A crew from J & C Allied Contracting of Knox prepare to lay new sluice pipe across the Bike-Hike Trail in North Warren. The work will continue Friday, according to the crew, and the trail — from the East Street entrance at Morck Park to South State Street at Big Joe’s — will be closed through 5 p.m. The trail will be impassable during the work and barricades will be in place to indicate the closure of the trail. The Warren County commissioners approved approximately $90,000 in repair work to that portion of the trail back in July. The work is being funded through the county’s Act 13 funding from unconventional oil and gas development in addition to a $6,000 grant.
