Deer hunters can learn how to make hunting maps at the Deer Season Kick-Off Oct. 27

The Allegheny National Forest will have map specialists available at the Deer Season Kick-Off to help hunters learn how to make their own hunting maps. The Kinzua Quality Deer Cooperative (KQDC) is sponsoring this training for hunters. Map specialists will show hunters how to utilize the interactive mapping system of the Allegheny National Forest available to the public. DMAP permits benefit hunters, help to fight CWD in PA

Permits that hunters can use to take additional antlerless deer within areas of Pennsylvania affected by Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) remain available, though permits for some locations nearly are sold out. When CWD is detected in Pennsylvania in captive or free-ranging deer, the Pennsylvania Game Commission includes the area surrounding the detection site within a Disease Management Area (DMA). Sportsmen’s Foundation talks ways to combat CWD

Leaf pickup us ramping up in the City of Warren. Crews will be out full time starting Monday, Oct. 14, throughout the city.
