Warren County Christian boys, girls notch victories

The Warren County Christian School girls basketball team rolled to a convincing 59-29 win over CCSI on Monday behind Emma Marino’s 21 points and another 20 from Rachel Brenner. The Lady Lions opened the game with a 19-9 first quarter and solidified their lead by outscoring CCSI 24-12 in the third. Marino also had two assists and two rebounds while Brenner filled out her stat sheet with three assists and six boards. WCCS girls get win over Erie First

Warren County Christian School got a strong performance from Emma Marino on their way to a 35-19 win over visiting Erie First Christian Academy on Monday, Marino scored a game-high 17 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists in the winning effort. Despite a 66-61 setback to Calvary Baptist, Warren County Christian school coach Tom Jones couldn’t have been prouder of the way his team played. Tommy Jones had 25 points for the Lions and Josiah Poindexter 15 for the Lions in the close loss. “That’s the best game we’ve played all season,” coach Jones said. “That’s (Calvary) a very talented team. Warren County Christian School battled to a split in their 1-day Christmas Tournament on Tuesday, dropping a 43-41 overtime heartbreaker to Latrobe Christian Academy, followed by a convincing 78-21 win over Bible Baptist Christian of Mercer. MEADVILLE- A fourth quarter surge propelled the Warren County Christian School girls to a 29-23 victory over Calvary Baptist in New Penn Christian Conference play on Tuesday.
