Lady Knights roll to victory

The Eisenhower girls methodically took care of business on Tuesday, beating Tidioute 59-34. Lydia Giannini had another double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds, Emiley Wheeler had 14 points and Lilee Renninger 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals. “A win is a win, we’ll take it,” said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue. “We looked a little tired and fouled a lot, which allowed the game to stay close early.” Logue praised the work of Renninger, as well as Alexis Courtney. “They both had great games for us,” Logue said. “They kept us going in that rough ...

Eisenhower girls beat Youngsville for second time

A rivalry was renewed on the hardwood at Eisenhower High School Friday night. The Lady Knights and Youngsville Lady Eagles battled for 32 minutes. In the end, the combination of Emiley Wheeler and Lydia Giannini proved too much as they led the Knights to a 44-27 win. Both players registered a double-double. “It was everything a rivalry game is supposed to be,” Eisenhower coach Mike Logue said. “It was two teams who played hard for 32 minutes. I thought both played well at times, and both were sloppy at times. I enjoyed it, it was a very good game.” The game was tight ...

Knights roll past Corry

CORRY, Pa. – Eisenhower wrestlers shook off a tough loss at Union City Tuesday, and a day’s delay, to deck Corry, 53-18, for a Region 3 win Thursday. The win assured the Knights a spot in the District 10 duals, and put them in position to host one of the wrestle-in matches. It also demonstrated their resilience as a team. “Our goal was to get back on the horse and be super aggressive,” Eisenhower assistant coach Dennis Johnson said. “We wanted to make a little statement there.” Corry (4-3 overall, 3-3 Region 3) got the first points at 195. In what is shaping up to be ...

Saegertown buries 11 3’s to rally past Youngsville; Ike falls

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Eli Draa made three of Saegertown’s 11 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Panthers rallied for a 61-55 Region 3 victory over Youngsville on Tuesday. The 3-pointers helped offset a monster game by Youngsville’s (6-7 overall, 1-4 Region 3) Gage Hendrickson, who poured in a game-high 28 points. The Eagles led 31-24 at haltime. “Good teams extend a 12-point fist half lead to 20, they don’t give it away,” said Youngsville coach Jesse DeLoof. Both Draa and Max Fuller, the latter of whom had 22 points on seven 3’s and a free throw, were crucial ...
