BEMUS POINT, N.Y. — The Eisenhower Knights Cross Country team traveled across state lines to compete in the Red Dragon Invitational at Bemus Point Golf Course. There were many strong performances across the board and a handful of athletes came home with some hardware, including a runner-up finish by the varsity boys.

In the small school division, the Knights varsity squad was led by Parker McBride with a time of 18:55 (10th overall). He was closely followed by teammate Joseph Fanelli’s time of 19:01 (11th overall). Alex Lund (19:27) Mason Britt (19:34), and Brice Ludwick (20:21) finished in 15, 19th, and 24th place, respectively. The Knights were also represented by Carson Ferman (21:29) and Jonathan Bogniak (25:56).

Izzy Grosch (22:35) and Lainey Belcher (23:10) were both top-10 finishers for the varsity girls. Callie Delp (24:24) and Bryn Lindell (26:16) earned places of 24th and 46th. Rounding out the Lady Knights were Addyson Britt (30:29) and Haley Ferrie (31:20). The Knights finished 5th overall in the small school division.

“We had some strong performances on Saturday at the Red Dragon,” Eisenhower head coach Darlene Beach stated. “We like to come to this invitational as we get to run against some different schools from New York state and it’s not too far from home. The first and third miles of the varsity course are pretty flat, while the hilly second mile is more challenging.”

In junior high action, Cameron Lindell (12:32) and Benny Matson (13:13) ran blazing places to earn 4th and 5th places for the 2-mile course. Dylan Shaffer (14:53) and Zachary Ayers (16:03) also ran well for the Knights.

The junior high girls saw another strong performance by Josie Elms (14:02) who was the second fastest girl on the 2-mile course. Teammate Hanna Lund (15:32) earned 9th place, and Naveen Mead ran a 17:23 good for 24th place.

The Knights return to the course this Tuesday in a Region 4 meet when they host the Harbor Creek Huskies for a 4 p.m. start.

Starting at $3.50/week.
