Freshmen impress in Knights’ loss
RUSSELL — Playing their third game in five days, the Eisenhower Knights fell to North East 3-1 in nonregion girls soccer Thursday at Mike Decker Field.
Katie Nishnick scored in the seventh minute to give the Grape Pickers a 1-0 lead.
North East added to its lead in the 25th minute of the second half when Abbie George scored the first of her two goals.
George added her second goal in the 77th minute for a 3-0 lead.
Rosalie Rondeau scored a goal to the left side of the North East net to make it 3-1 in the closing minutes for the Knights.
“Our communication was better,” Eisenhower head coach Faith Johnson said. “Several freshmen, including our keeper Kylie Guiher, Camdyn Black and Grace Martin have really stepped up.”
