County rings in new school year
Schools in the area are all officially back in session – with the Tidioute Community Charter School getting a headstart with a starting date a week earlier than other schools in the area.
TCCS is reporting smooth and successful opening days.
“It’s wonderful to see the kids back and the building buzzing again,” said Ryan Steffan, Tidioute Community Charter School chief administrative officer. “The staff is ready, excited, and committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment.”
The school has added several new team members including a school security officer. Since they got an earlier start than most, TCCS students are getting into the full swing of daily procedures of the school day. The charter school serves 300 students in pre-k through 12 grades and has reached its full enrollment cap for the year with some students still on a waiting list.
Warren County Schools opened their doors Tuesday. Gary Weber, Warren County School District superintendent, visited every building in the district and spoke with many students and staff who all held a positive outlook in light of the merging of students into the Warren and Eisenhower school buildings.
“The Warren County School District kicked off the new school year with one of the smoothest and most successful first days I’ve seen in my 26 years in education,” Weber said.
Transportation on day one was a smooth ride in the morning, while minor issues during the afternoon dismissal occurred yet were quickly resolved.
“Students were welcomed into our schools with enthusiasm, and each building navigated the normal first-day logistics with professionalism and care. We’re extremely excited about the year ahead and are committed to making this a great experience for every student. Even by day two, we’re already seeing improvements–and it will only get better from here,” Weber said.
