ERIE — Warren traveled to McDowell on Thursday and swept the Trojans 25-13, 25-26, 30-28 in Region 5 girls volleyball play.

Warren was led by strong performances from many squad members, including 13 kills and nine digs from Madelyn Nosel; six kills and three aces from Hailey Cabisca; 14 digs and seven aces from Malysia Sorensen; and 25 assists from Brynn Norris.

Brooke Sherry, Attie Corey and Julia Getner each had four kills on the evening.

“It’s a region game early in the season so it’s important to come away with a win,” Warren head coach Mike Dolan said. “The first two sets we stayed focused and consistent and pulled away. The third set we had to make some plays at the end so we can build on that. We’re still working out some kinks and our offense has yet to click but we’re on the right track. Malysia’s serving and passing were a huge key in the win.”

In junior varsity play, the Trojans were victorious by a score of 25-13, 10-25, 15-9.

For the Dragons, Tia French had four digs; Addison Brown 16 assists; Grace Schwab three kills; Kelsey Johnson an ace and a kill; Lara Pearson totaled eight kills, four digs and two aces; Kendall Skerda five digs and two aces; and Maddy Snell had three digs.

The Dragons return to play Saturday when they travel to Fort LeBoeuf for an all-day tournament.
