Warren suffers volleyball loss

COCHRANTON — Warren’s volleyball team hopes Thursday night’s non-region loss at Cochranton serves as a “wake-up call” prior to the District 10 playoffs.

“Cochranton is a really good team, but we made way too many errors and had lots of missed opportunities by not controlling the ball or by playing tentatively,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan, whose Dragons lost, 25-22, 11-25, 18-25, 25-15, 15-12. “We’ll get back at it tomorrow and get back on track. Hopefully, we use this loss as a wake-up call before playoffs start.”

Madelyn Nosel led Warren with 25 kills and 22 digs, Maddy Jones had 16 kills, 23 digs, and 2 aces, Lindsay Madigan 42 assists, two aces, and 14 digs, Malysia Sorensen 27 digs, Julia Getner eight kills, Sophie Walker five digs and three aces, Paiden Johnson two aces, and Lily Walker three digs.

Warren’s junior varsity defeated Cochranton, 25-21, 25-18. Johnson had 15 digs, Addison Ristau two aces, three digs, Brooke Sherry 10 kills, five digs, Brynn Norris 11 assists, Hailey Cabisca four digs, Lara Pearson three kills, Peyton Cabisca three aces, three kills and Michaela Dolan eight assists.

Starting at $3.50/week.
