By the time the first half was over, Meea Irwin had a hat trick. By the time the second half was over, she had another one in the Lady Dragons’ 6-0 non-region win over Titusville on Saturday at War Memorial Field.

“Meea was on fire today,” said Warren coach Mark Ordiway. “She scored from every angle. Her final goal was a rocket in the top of the net from 35 yards out.”

Meea’s second hat trick came in the first 20 minutes of the second half. She has 20 goals in the first eight games and Warren has won two of its last three.

“Our defensive line of Charlotte Keeports, Maggie Bennett, Violet Brooker, and Traci Abplanalp played with a lot of poise,” said Ordiway. “They were able to switch the field and help us build from the back. This allowed our midfield to link together a lot of passes as well. For most of the game, we had Titusville completely on their heels.”

Leyna Irwin had her eighth and ninth assists of the season, and Keeports added another.

“The little things are starting to show up now — one-touch passes to gain possession, making drop passes to switch the field, and utilizing our throw-ins properly to keep possession,” said Ordiway. “I think we are starting to put it all together. We are reaching our peak just in time for region play to begin this week.”

Bella Campbell had six saves in Titusville’s (2-5) third loss of the week.
