Community Blood Bank schedules blood drives

The Community Blood Bank will hold two blood drives in Warren County. The first will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Warren General Hospital. The bloodmobile will be parked by Crescent Park Playground. The second will be from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Sugar Grove Fire Department, 27 Wilson St., Sugar Grove. To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting www.fourhearts.org or by calling Edinger at 814-596-3395. Walk-ins are also welcome, but scheduling an appointment ensures a smoother process for donors. Blood donations take about 45 minutes.

Caregivers Support Group to meet July 2

The Caregivers Support Group-Warren will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. East, Warren. Those attending should enter the building via the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance and proceed to the Winger Room. Meetings are a time of confidential discussion and sharing of concerns from caregivers. Information regarding the Warren Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease on September 26 will be available, as well as information about the picnic at Betts Park on July 20. All caregivers and those interested in learning about Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia-related disorders are welcome and encouraged to attend. Support group meetings are open to the public. On Saturday, July 25th come hear Democratic candidates for the midterm elections speaking live in Warren County. This is a rare opportunity to bypass media, AI, and secondhand reportage to make your voting decisions and instead listen directly to the people running for office. They will address the issues affecting the positions they seek, discuss their qualifications and answer your questions. Ray Bilger, candidate for US Congress 15th District, and Destiny Howard, candidate for Pennsylvania House of Representatives 65th District will attend.

Democratic candidates to speak at picnic

The Warren County Democratic Committee is welcoming candidates for the November midterm election at its annual picnic from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Pellegrino’s Creekside Pavilion, 449 Conewango Ave., Warren. Reservations are required. The cost to attend is $25 per person for those 18 and over. For reservations, visit www.warrendems.org.
