TRIDELPHIA, W.Va. — Warren Area High School senior wrestler Kasey Kophazy faced some of the toughest girls in the country on April 26-27 at the Ohio Tournament of Champions at the Highland Sports Complex.

There were girls from seven states and Kophazy defeated national team members from Michigan to Ohio on her way to the finals at 130.2 to 139 pounds.

In Kophazy’s only loss of the day, she was pinned by Spring Valley’s (W.V.) Ciara Riner, a four-time state champion.

Coached by Tom Holden, Joby Hilyer of Sheffield placed sixth in the Junior High School Boys 175-pound division.
