Special Olympics Swimming

BRADFORD, Pa. — The Warren County Special Olympics competed in an invitational swim meet at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford last Friday.

Special Olympians from Elk, Forest, Cameron, McKean and Warren counties participated. Sheetz of North Warren provided support for the local team.

Following are the results:

15-yard walk: Brenda Huya, second place, heat 2; James Farmswoth, first place and Bill Dies, fourth place, heat 5.

15-yard assisted swim: Brenda Huya, second place, heat 11.

15-yard unassisted swim: James Farnsworth, first place, heat 21A and Bill Dies, second place 21B.

Special Olympics Basketball

The Warren County Special Olympics basketball skills competition was held last Saturday at the Holy Redeemer Center.

Following are the results:

Male Division I, Bill Dies, first place; Male Division II, Rick McKee, first place and Shawn Albaugh, second place; Male Division III, Conner Campbell, first place, Conlan Seymour, second place and Jacob Elmquist, third place; Male Division IV, Kyle Fortman, first place; Male Division V, Mike Gray, first place and Kyle Burge, second place; Female Division I, Jolee Rutenber, first place, Julie Gregg, second place; and Jen Kersey, third place; Female Division II, Brena Huya, first place and Samantha Miller second place; Female Division III Kaylee Turner, first place and Kristen Sorennsen, second place; Female Division IV, Kyla Smith, first place and Shirley Petko, second palace; and Female Division V, Cindy Zaffino, first place.

Bowling

Steve Rex topped the Rusted Nutz Garage League at Valley Bowling Center by firing a 242-657.

Other top series were Joe Yeagle 244-628, Tom Traub 221-587, Mark Stewart 200-564, Bonnie Umpleby 170-498, Darcy Rex 184-487.

The Dairy Queen team captured the championship.

Austin Fitzgerald fired a 247-654 to pace the Brokenstraw Couples league at Valley Bowling Center.
