Corry’s wrestling program is where Warren’s wants to be.

Days after winning the 23rd annual Patrick J. Morales Memorial Tournament at Falconer High School, the Beavers shut out the Dragons, 65-0, in a match for first place in Region 3.

“Hats off to Corry,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger, whose Dragons are 4-1 in the region. Corry is now 5-0. “Really nice team. Great example of what quality time and paying your dues can do for a group of kids. We had no quit in us tonight; they are just better. (We will) take our lumps and decide what we will do in the offseason to get better.”

The Beavers came to Warren Area High School and left with five pins, three technical falls, and two major decisions.

Corry took the driver’s seat in the region after a 36-25 win over Titusville a month ago and hadn’t looked back, racking up three lopsided dual meet wins and two tournament titles since.
