Eagles beat Commodore Perry behind Robinault’s 25

YOUNGSVILLE — The old adage “it’s not how you start; it’s how you finish” was displayed in all its glory during Monday night’s Youngsville vs. Commodore Perry girls basketball game at Youngsville High School.

The Eagles turned a two-point game into a rout with a strong final quarter during a 50-36 victory over the Panthers.

Sophomore Riley Robinault had arguably the best game of her young high school career, bucketing 25 points in the victory. Senior teammate Molly Helman joined Robinault in double figures with 11 points for the game.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 2-1 on the season. They are a mere bucket away from a 3-0 start, putting together two straight wins after a narrow two-point overtime loss in the season opener Friday.

Youngsville will try to extend its fast start today when it hosts Iroquois in a varsity-only affair. First tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
