CORRY — The Eisenhower Knights wrestling team ran into a buzzsaw Wednesday night when they traveled to Corry and lost to the Beavers 64-6.

“They are a strong team and didn’t surprise us,” Eisenhower head coach Jared Lindell said of the Beaver. “We have to get better. I have to think that some of our young guys got their eyes opened tonight and now understand what to expect.”

The lone Knights’ win was Tucker Lindell at 160 pounds, who pinned Corry’s Lamech Albers at 1:12 of the first period.

The team score was deceiving as the Knights wrestled well, but couldn’t close on their opponent. Cole Kellogg at 152 pounds lost a close match to Corry’s Cody Proper 6-4. At 106 pounds, the Knights’ Rever Caudill lost 6-4 on a late takedown to Corry’s Logan Willis.

“Corry has such a good team top to bottom, there was some good wrestling out there tonight. We have to work a lot harder and continue to improve, if we do that we’ll be fine,” Coach Lindell said. “What we have to do now is work to get better. We have a huge match on Tuesday against Warren to prepare for.”
