Youngsville Senior League ends season

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. — The Youngsville Senior Golf League held its annual season-ending scramble and awards picnic last Tuesday at Maplehurst Country Club.
Team 5 won first place by matching of cards over Team 6. Both teams shot 31. Rod Korbar, Art Ward, Jim Chapman and Bob Downey were the winners on Team 5, followed by Pete Hofert, Gary Lindahl, Doc Young, Oby Young and Rick Preston on Team 6. Third place went to Terry Jackson, Nick Archuletta, Jon Steffan and Dan Steffan.
Ward won closest to the pin at No. 16.
The first ever Youngsville Senior League Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to 94-year-old Jack Abplanalp.
Last year’s Wally Holmes Award winner Don Melson presented Jim California with this year’s trophy after California scored the most points during the season.
